Professor Graham Weir is considered one of New Zealand’s leading applied mathematicians. His research focuses on describing the behaviour of complex natural and industrial systems. He has applied mathematical and computational modelling to research in a wide-reaching set of industrial applications, including nanotechnology, soil-technology and geothermal systems. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, and a life member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in recognition of his contributions to applied mathematics and industrial research. Graham has long been involved in industrial research, both in a previous role in Industrial Research Ltd, and as a consultant to several organisations.
